The staff of the National Roads Authority (CONAVI) prepare a flyby in the Guanacaste area to see the damage caused to the road infrastructure as a result of the powerful earthquake yesterday.

Jose Luis Salas, head of CONAVI explained that there isn’t official reports yet of damages. Although in social networks there are pictures circulating of the bridge over the Rio Sucio in Sarapiqui, which collapsed.

“We have no official reports at this time, although we know that in the General Cañas area where work is being done near Los Arcos, there is no damage. We hope to have a clear report of the situation in the zone where the tremor had more influence in Guanacaste,” Salas said.

Salas said they have reports of some landslides and cracked roads, but the flyby will confirm where they are located.
