Every year Travel and Leisure magazine carries out a survey to come up for the winners of the World’s Best Awards; the awards include the best hotels, cities, airlines, restaurants, cruise lines, transportation, and much more.
The survey was made available at tlworldsbest.com from November 6, 2017 through March 5, 2018, readers of the magazine were invited to participate through the different platforms and the research form M&RR maintained and monitored the survey website and collected and tabulated the responses. The responses were screened to identify fraudulent votes.
When it comes to the hotels, some of the aspects rated were: rooms and facilities, location, service, food, and value.
Three hotels in Cota Rica made this year’s list of 100 best hotels in the world, in fact, Nayara Springs in La Fortuna, San Carlos, made it among the Top 10 best hotels in the world.
This is not the first time that Nayara Springs Resort is recognized as one of the best in the world, it was rated as best luxury hotel by TripAdvisor in 2016 and it was also listed in TripAdvisors’ Top 10 Travelers’ Choice Hotels in the World in 2017. Nayara Springs came in as number 10 with a score of 97.04. Nayara Springs is an adults-only boutique resort and it was also included in Travel and Leisure as the number 1 hotel in Central America.
Nayara Resort, Spa & Gardens the sister property of Nayara Springs (properties communicate through a bridge) , also made the Travel and Leisure Best 100 Hotels in the World list in position 53. This resort has also received several awards in the past, it was named number 2 resort in Central America by Condé Nast Traveler 2016 and number 1 resort in Central and South America by Travel and Leisure in 2015. Nayara Resort Spa & Gardens scored 95.35.
Hacienda AltaGracia an Augberge Resort in Perez Zeledon, Costa Rica was the third hotel in the country to make the list, it scored 95.20 and took position 61. Hacienda AltaGracia topped the 2016 listing of the Best Hotels in Central America by Travel and Leisure magazine.
