Burger King Costa Rica this week announced plans to open a new restaurant in San Rafael de Escazú, as the company, which scaled way back a couple of years ago, begins to make a comeback in Costa Rica.

The new fast food location will be in San Rafael de Escazú, 50 meters east of the Yanuario Quesada School and across from the Barrio Lujan bakery, said the company.

Last year, Burger King reported it had 15,738 outlets in 100 countries; of these, 47.5 percent are in the United States.

The San Rafael de Escazú location should be ready for opening between October and November of 2017, according to a report in the daily Costa Rican news site Elmundo.cr.

A notice posted at the site, which is being renovated, announced employment opportunities for the new location. Interested parties can send their resume to [email protected] or call 4052-8820.

Burger King (BK) is an American global chain of hamburger fast food restaurants. Headquartered in Miami-Dade County, Florida, the company was founded in 1953 as InstaBurger King, a Jacksonville, Florida-based restaurant chain. After Insta-Burger King ran into financial difficulties in 1954, its two Miami-based franchisees David Edgerton and James McLamore purchased the company and renamed it “Burger King,” according to information on Wikipedia.
