Promoting company RPMTV announced that Costa Rican band Gandhi will be in charge of opening up the Guns N’ Roses concert in Costa Rica next November 26 at the National Stadium.

Abel Guier (bass), Massimo Hernández (drums), Federico Miranda (guitar), and Luis Montalbert-Smith (vocals and piano), are the four members of the Costa Rican rock band formed in 1993 and that launched their first album in 1997; still today this musical band remains as one of the favorite bands among Ticos.

Gandhi has shared the stage with Sting, Aerosmith, and Deep Purple. Their lead singer Luis Montalbert has taken part in presentations with the Philharmonic Orchestra and participated in local TV shows, theater plays, among other artistic events.

Gandhi recently won the Songwriters Association (ACAM) award in category best rock album for the album Universo Asimetrico. “Guns N’ Roses is a very important band because they knew how to reinvent rock. They introduced a bit of “street” to a hard rock that was very plastic. Guns N’ Roses has influenced every member of Gandhi at some point in our

life as musicians. We are already planning a strong concert, full of energy and with strength to prepare the audience for Guns N’ Roses”, said Gandhi’s bass player Abel Guier.

Ghandi will share the stage with national singers Pedro Capmany and Nelson Guillen (member of the national band Agressor), they both will have a participation in the opening of the concert.

RPMTV also announced that along with the sponsors and in preparation for the concert, they will have a presentation with the opening artists in November 24 at the Hard Rock Café in Belen, Heredia starting at 8 p.m.
