The National Symphonic Orchestra will give a free concert this Friday, May 26th at the Santa Ana catholic church starting at 7 p.m.

This is not the first time that a concert of this type is held at the Santa Ana Church, this community has organized several times before the Baroque Music Festival in this same site. This time Directed by Bruno Procopio, the Symphonic Orchestra will present a repertoire of baroque music from the time of Jean-Philippe Rameau, Francois-Joseph Gossec and Etienne Méhul.

“This concert is dedicated only to the French music of the XVIII century and beginning of the XIX century, music that can be considered as forgotten by the big symphonic orchestras, even in France these works by Gossec and Méhul are rarely played, so I think it is very important we catch up with this type of repertoire”, explained Director Procopio, who will be performing for the first time in Central America.

The concert is open to the public and attendance is free; the orchestra has over 50 musicians performing for close to 80 minutes. This concert is a production of the National Music Center (CNM), with the musical and logistic support of the Versailles Baroque Music Center and the Santa Ana Municipal School of Comprehensive Arts (EMAI).

Director Bruno Procopio was born in Brazil but currently resides in France, where he is considered one of the most prominent young harpsichordist. He has participated as a guest director with Orchestras in Brazil, Belgium and Venezuela.

The space in the church is limited which is why it is suggested that those interested in attending arrive early.
