If you haven’t noticed recently, imported beers from Miller and Budweiser are often much less expensive then Imperial or Pilsen.

Florida Bebidas should reassess their market approach, obviously they have a choke hold on the industry here in Costa Rica, but long term, you never know how business will unfold unless you are competitively pricing your beers.

Take for example, the new Mas Por Menos grocery store in Guachipelin Escazu.

You can buy 24 cans of Milwaukees Best Premium cans of Beer from Miller for less then 12,000 Colones.

The same volume of Imperial or Pilsen regular cans will cost 12,960 Colones. Which does not seem like a big difference, but $2 can go along way for groceries at the farmers market near your area of Costa Rica. Long term over the years, this definitely adds up.

The Costa Rica Star recently reported on the acquisition of an $388 million beer conglomerate in the United States by Florida Bebidas.

At the end of the day, the choice is yours, but the beers taste virtually the same from can to can when you are talking about entry level quality.

You might as well save some money on your beer drinking barbecue weekends and stick with imported Miller’s of Budweiser, it’s Miller time!
