For TyreExpo2015, organizers have even scheduled Hall of Fame Astronaut Franklin Chang-Diaz, whom we interviewed in 2011 about the up-and-coming aerospace industry in our country. TyreExpo is the preeminent international trade fair for the tire and accessories industry, bringing together suppliers and buyers ready to do business. Tyrexpo2015 is taking place in Costa Rica to address the burgeoning Latin American and Caribbean marketplace.

SAN JOSE, Costa Rica (Nov. 11, 2014) — The organizers of Tyrexpo 2015, set to take place April 29-May 1, 2015, in San Jose, have scheduled former astronaut Franklin Chang-Diaz as a guest speaker and secured Bridgestone de Costa Rica as the event’s primary sponsor.

 

Mr. Chang-Diaz, a seven-time Space Shuttle mission specialist during a 25-year career with the National Aeronautics & Space Administration, is a native of Costa Rica with dual U.S. citizenship. During his seven missions, Mr. Chang-Diaz logged more than 1,601 hours in space, including 19½ hours of spacewalk time.

 

He was inducted into the U.S. Astronaut Hall of Fame on May 5, 2012.

 

In addition, wholesalers Lucy’s Tire of Miami and Hercules Tire & Rubber Co. of Findlay, Ohio, have signed on as platinum and gold sponsors, respectively.

 

Tyrexpo 2015 will take place April 29-May 1, 2015, in San Jose, Costa Rica. The event, showcasing tires, wheels and accessories in the Latin America and Caribbean marketplace, will take place at the Pedegral Convention Center.

 

“The sale of tires, wheels and accessories in the Americas has proven to be an effective springboard for tire manufacturers and wholesalers from around the world. On an individual basis, Latin American countries are showing larger GDP growth than any other region in the world,” said Maybeline Reyes, director of Tyrexpo 2015.

 

Tyrexpo 2015 will feature many of the amenities of the most popular tire trade shows, event planners said. Additionally, the Tyrexpo team brings expertise totaling more than 100 years in business from around the world and the event provides an entry point to business in the Caribbean and Latin America, the group said.

 

Expo CR Eventions S.A. and Eventions International L.L.C. are promoting the three-day event at the Pedregal Events Center in San Antonio de Belén as a trade fair for tires, wheels and accessories. The Pedregal Center offers more than 118,000 square feet of exhibition space, according to the organizers.

 

The organizers also are pitching Costa Rica as a family destination as well as a business opportunity that would promote the exchange of experiences, knowledge and ideas to generate innovation and entrepreneurship at the highest level.

 

The organizers are planning five daily raffles of $5,000, to be applied to orders placed during the show with an exhibitor.
