Earlier this week, the 12 candidates to the coveted Chica Reef Costa Rica 2015 beauty pageant were introduced to the public at the Hard Rock Cafe in the Wyndham Herradura Hotel near San Jose. The presentation of the Miss Reef candidates drew a very large audience from around Costa Rica, which is a trend that has been on the increase in the last few years.

The final competition and awards ceremony will take place on Saturday, July 18^th at the Morgan’s Cove Hotel in Jaco Beach. The Miss Reef Costa Rica beauty pageant will also feature live music by ska band Percance and roots act Reggae Night.

This year’s Miss Reef Costa Rica already has two favorites: Margot Solis Rojas, a glamour model with considerable international experience, and Denise Wright, daughter of retired football star and current coach Mauricio Wright. Miss Wright is an astonishingly beautiful Afro Costa Rican woman who does not have modeling experience; nonetheless, a few of her friends have been egging her on over the last few years to enter a pageant.

In a recent interview with daily tabloid Diario Extra, Miss Wright explained that her father has been very supportive throughout the competition, for which she has been spending many hours in the exercise room located in her own house. This is the same gym where her father sometimes holds physical training session for professional football players in Costa Rica.

The Miss Reef pageant is held annually by the known brand of surfing and beach lifestyle apparel. The winner of the Miss Reef International pageants is given a contract to be the brand ambassador of the popular bikini line, and thus there is a strong focus on selecting contestants with the most attractive beach bodies. The Miss Reef pageants are known to attract more audiences that other, more traditional beauty contests.
