Hundreds of Tico headbangers were disappointed earlier today when they learned that the Rock N’ Roll All Stars presentation, originally scheduled for May 3rd, was canceled due to a disagreement between the American and Costa Rican event organizers.
According to Telenoticias 7, Brunca Productions delivered the sad news this morning. The concert would have taken place at the Ricardo Saprissa Stadium in Tibas on May 3rd, and it would have featured the notorious Hollywood personality Carlos Irwin Estevez, AKA Charlie Sheen as master of ceremonies.
Doubts began to cloud the organization of the event last week. The problem was centered on the lack of confirmation by certain musicians, specifically:
- Vince Neil from Motley Crue
- Jason Newsted, formerly of Metallica
- Billy Duffy from The Cult
According to La Nacion, the official press release from Brunca Productions explains:
“The American event organizer is still negotiating changes to the original agreement, which go against the integrity of the concert we have already announced here in Costa Rica, and thousands are anxiously awaiting the event. On top of these negotiations, we have unofficially learned that other musicians will not be participating, something that the foreign producers are still working on. To make matters worse, their leg of the tour in Chile has been canceled as well.”
If you have already purchased tickets, reimbursements will be made through PubliTickets in the next few days.
One of the rock legends scheduled was Duff McKagan, who recently performed at the new Luxe Lounge in Escazu, and who was also at the induction ceremony of Guns N’ Roses into the Rock N’ Roll Hall of Fame.
