Several companies in Costa Rica appear in the “Great Place to Work in Central America 2018”ranking. This is a ranking created  by the Great Place to Work Institute Central America and the Caribbean, an institute of investigation, research, training and assessment that recognizes the efforts of organizations working under their own model of culture and organizational climate.

The list obtained is a result of the study of the culture and organizational climate that measures precision, conducts, behaviors and work environment through the Trust Index© and Culture Audit© tools. The Trust Index is a survey answered by over 96 thousand employees in Central America. The Trust Index evaluates five dimensions: credibility, impartiality, pride, respect and team spirit while the Culture Audit is applied to the organizations and evaluates processes, policies and human resource practices.

The ranking includes 154 companies in Central America, divided according to size (number of employees). In total, 40 companies included in the ranking are within Costa Rica.

The best 5 companies to work in Costa Rica are, Backcountry Costa Rica S.R.L.: They take first place for Costa Rica. Backcountry works with parameters of an equal culture, with group work under defined roles and without complicated hierarchies. “Each member is indispensable to resolve the problems and offer solutions. The company’s culture focuses on the respect to our diversity policy, we are committed to eliminating all forms of discrimination, respect the diversity and promote inclusion in all our collaborators”, commented Edwin Dalorzo, Lead Engineer of Backcountry.

The second position in the country was taken by Edify Software Consulting located in Aerocentro, Alajuela, “We are very proud of our team, our culture and the work we do at Edify and that today sets new goals for the ranking of Best Places to Work in Latin America”, reads a post in social media.

Cisco, VmWare and DHL Express, take the third, fourth and fifth places respectively.

Other companies in Costa Rica included in the ranking are: G&T Financial Group, INS Valores, Lexincorp, Cuestamoras, Holiday Inn Express Hotel San Jose Forum, National Instruments and Aeris, among others.
