THE ADVENTURE

At Costa Rica Unbound, every aspect of your trip is world-class. From the moment you step off the plane in San Jose your adventure begins. Our guides meet you as you exit Customs with large Costa Rica Unbound pit boards. We’ll take you and your gear bags across the street to the Hampton Inn for a quick snack and warm up the WRs as you change into your riding gear. Before other tourists have located their rental car agencies, we are riding out of the hotel! Ride past the airport and into the jungles headed west to the Pacific Ocean. Welcome! You’ve just traded rush hour for an adrenaline rush!

THE TRAILS/TRACKS

From the view over the Yamaha ProTaper Handlebars, a jungle awaits! Ride from coast to coast, ride from sea level to 10,000 feet, stare at mountains begging to be climbed, cross rivers, hold it wide open down a stretch of coastline, experience first-gear single track through the tropical rain forest, Costa Rica is a dream. Perfect soil, endless trails, and scenery to provide you with a lifetime of memories and awe-inspiring pictures. You’ll see monkeys, crocodiles sunning near the river beds and countless wildlife unmatched in the US. You will test your personal limits and return a better, more technical rider. If you choose, we can also ride to our private motocross track and race a few laps. “MOTO WORLD” is a privately owned Mark Peters-built mx track that you are more than welcome to ride!

Costa Rica Unbound provides adventure tourists with the unique combination of action-sports oriented exhilaration with top-quality, luxury accommodations and services. We are the only tour company specializing in ‘personalized adventures’ that can range from 3 – 15 days and include riding groups or families of all sizes.

Costa Rica Unbound was launched by American transplants now living, some full, some part time, in Costa Rica. Visiting Costa Rica on surfing expeditions back in the early 90’s, four friends discovered a paradise they would continue to visit multiple times a year. All motorcycle racers and all working in the motorcycle industry, we soon found the dream surfing destination also applied to the epic motorcycle trails the jungles of Costa Rica had to offer. Visiting with such frequency to ride and surf led us to build a resort on the sands of our favorite surfing destination, Playa Hermosa. The result was the Marea Brava, one of the most incredible resorts in all of Costa Rica.

Managing the condo and spending so much time in Costa Rica we began personal guided tours when our guests asked about visiting local areas and viewing the unique wildlife. With our knowledge of the area and the help of our local “Tico” friends, we began getting our feet wet in the tour guide business. What started with crocodile and monkey tours, partnered with a canopy tour, expanded into guided surfing trips, and eventually peaked with our biggest addiction; motorcycle tours. We feel the ideal way to experience Costa Rica, the beauty, the culture, and the wildlife while is by traversing the country on a Yamaha WRs.
