The Costa Rican Chamber of Construction has requested explanations about recent public works contracts through other States or international organizations.

A statement from the Costa Rican Chamber of Construction (CCC) reads:

CCC REQUESTS TRANSPARENCY IN GOVERNMENT PROCUREMENT OF INFRASTRUCTURE PROJECTS AND PUBLIC WORKS

In a memorandum to President Laura Chinchilla, the Costa Rican Chamber of Construction (CCC) has asked the Government for full transparency for the development of infrastructure projects and public works that have recently been announced, extra ordinary procedures performed using administrative contracts.

The president of the CCC, Mr. Gonzalo Delgado explained that “it is extremely important that the State justify for public opinion, technically and legally, the need and advisability of some public works projects through agreements with the Chinese Government and development of public procurement through international organizations.”
