Mark Salling, a 33-year old actor who was recently in Costa Rica to celebrate an impromptu “Glee” cast reunion, has been arrested in Los Angeles for alleged possession of child pornography.

According to a wire report by Agencia EFE, international news partner of The Costa Rica Star, entertainment publications Variety and The Hollywood Reporter broke the story about the arrest. The arrest was carried out in Sunland, a neighborhood located near the foothills of the San Gabriel Mountains in Los Angeles, where the late actor Paul Walker of the Fast and the Furious film franchise once lived.

No further details were reported about the arrest on Tuesday; however, various tabloid and gossip websites have been posting social media updates about Mr. Salling’s visit to Costa Rica last month. One of the most shared items is a Twitter update that shows Mr. Salling wearing a t-shirt with the Cerveza Imperial crested eagle, an iconic beer logo in Costa Rica.

Diehard fans of the hit television series Glee, which aired on the Fox network from 2009 to 2015, have recently taken to social media to investigate a possible cast member reunion happening in Costa Rica. Ostensibly, the reason for this impromptu reunion would be the marriage ceremony of one of Glee’s stars in Tamarindo Beach, a destination that is known to attract celebrity weddings.

Apparently, this was not the first time Mr. Salling has experienced a brush with the law. In 2013, he was accused of sexual assault by a woman. He is a native of Dallas.

Mr. Salling was in Costa Rica for the wedding of former cast mate Harry Shum Jr. It so happens that Mr. Shum Jr. was born in Costa Rica; his family moved to California when he was 6 years old, and he is fluent in Spanish and Cantonese.

Tamarindo Beach is a premier spot for celebrity weddings in Costa Rica; this is where the beautiful and talented pop star Debi Nova, a native of Santa Ana, got married earlier this year. Ms. Nova resides in Southern California.
