The company Resonetics announced the opening of a new factory with state-of-the-art technology in laser micro-manufacturing systems, the same will be located in the Coyol Free Zone in Alajuela. The construction of the new plant began back in May and is expected to be concluded this month. The new factory of 1,486 square meters will offer larger volume of production, a clean room with laser processing and secondary automated operations.

Resonetics expects to hire 40 people to start, in between laser operators, technicians and engineers.

The Foreign Commerce Minister, Alexander Mora commented “The establishment of Resonetics’ first factory in the country represents a new and very welcome addition to our already prestigious park of successful companies in the area of life sciences, which today add up to almost 70 important operations of this nature. Not in vain it is the indisputable leader in exports of goods in Costa Rica. The sophisticated products that they will provide to other companies in the area that use them in different ways will contribute great value to our productive ecosystem. We congratulate and appreciate the trust the company has deposited in our country”.

This new factory in the Coyol Free Zone would be the fourth location of the company. In 2015 Resonetics opened operations in San Diego, California and acquired Mound Laser in Ohio. With these additional infrastructures and this new plant, Resonetics is positioning itself as a leader in the manufacturing of micro lasers for the life sciences industry.
