After Sunday night’s thrilling Super Bowl game, the Atlanta Falcons and their fans looked like a bunch of stunned Democrats wondering what the heck just happened to their ‘in the bag’ victory.

The parallels between the New England Patriots’ come from behind record-setting win and the unlikely victory of President Donald Trump last November are equally as stunning. Most of the national polls and odds makers had Democrat Hillary Clinton ahead of Trump, but come 3:00 a.m. on the morning of Nov. 9, 2016 the unbelievable result became clear – that a man who had never held elected office before just became president of the United States.

Patriots’ quarterback Tom Brady orchestrated an eye-popping, first-ever overtime victory in the 51-year history of the Super Bowl coming from behind by a score of 3 to 28 into a 34 to 28 win over Atlanta. Brady and his team scored an impressive 25 points in 13 minutes tying the game sending it into the history of professional football.

For Trump supporters, it was much the same story as Campaign 2016 wound down and Trump had eliminated 16 other candidates and won the Republican nomination for president; putting team Clinton on the defensive. For offense, Trump assembled a winning team of the best and the brightest political minds that did not think like Democrats or Republicans, but rather they tuned in to a love of country and pride in America that still existed, but was ignored by the Democrats, who to this day still can’t accept the loss. The Democrats fail to understand why they fell from grace by the working people of America, not the ‘food stamp’ people.

Watched around the world, The Super Bowl show was amazingly not political. None of the players took a knee in protest to an unfair world as some have this past football season. Lady Gaga’s performance was spellbinding as she dove down through the stadium’s high ceiling like a circus act. Her split-second costume changes were nothing short of absolutely amazing and she looked great. Her rendition of America the Beautiful was beautiful and dignified.

American patriotism was on full display Sunday night in Houston. Vice President Mike Pence was at the game while President Trump watched from his Mar-A-Lago resort. Former President George H.W. Bush, with First Lady Barbara Bush watching, opened the game with a coin toss that the Patriots won. Unbelievably, at the end of this game’s first quarter the score was tied at zero.

In the end, Brady plowed through the Falcons much like the Trump Train parked itself at 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue with hot brakes stunning the nation and the world. In the end, Trump’s political savvy out maneuvered the Democrats just enough to win the presidency in the Electoral College, but not in the popular vote.

This week the Democrats are fighting Trump’s cabinet and U.S. Supreme Court nominations as federal courts have halted President Trump’s executive order limiting travel to and from seven Muslim-majority nations in the Middle East. At this point President Trump has more backed up nominations than any other newly elected president, but in the end Trump will get all of his nominations confirmed by the U.S. Senate including Supreme Court nominee Neil Gorsuch, 49, a conservative and current federal appeals court judge and Harvard law school graduate. Gorsuch conceivably could serve on the nation’s high court for more than 30 years, extending President Trump’s reach far into the future.

Meanwhile, protesters in cities and at airports across the nation continue with their anti-Trump, anti-travel ban protests as Democrats in the U.S. Congress keep up their own anti-Trump sentiments. The Democrats are digging an even bigger hole for themselves as Americans see the difference between politics as usual, love of country and preserving the traditional American way of life.

Last year the Chicago Cubs won the World Series of Baseball for the first time in more than 100 years. Last year a man with no political experience, who made billions in real estate worldwide, will be leader of the free world for at least four years.

New England Patriot Tom Brady and President Trump have been personal friends for years and both have risen to the occasion far beyond expectations.
