The Nintendo Switch began selling officially this past March 3, it’s Nintendo’s first console in four years, the seventh in the company’s history.

This time the console is a hybrid of a home and portable device, the battery will last between two and six hours and it has an auxiliary charger.

The Nintendo Switch will be sold in at least eight electronics stores in Costa Rica: ADN Store, eShop CR, Universal, Vertigo, Paseo Games, Juguetón Cemaco, Insert Coin, Space Paranoids.

The price for the console and including the game The Legend of Zelda: Breath of The Wild is of ¢320,000 (approximately $582 USD) while the console by itself has a cost of around ¢280,000 (approximately $510 USD).

The cost in Costa Rica almost doubles the price of Switch in the United States which is of $300.00, this obeys to the 55% taxing that is applied to the consoles when they enter the country, and 29% taxes for the videogame, plus of course the store’s profit margin.

In some stores the Nintendo Switch was almost sold out in pre-sale.

Minecraft, Just Dance 2017, Bomberman R, 1-2 Switch and Skylanders Imaginators are being released with the console, while Mario Bros Odyssey will be released at the end of 2017.
