Andrey Ramírez is just 9 –years-old but he knows what he is passionate about and he is not afraid of showing his talent to the world.

Andrey, who is in fourth grade, loves music, he plays the guitar and sings, his mother Andrea López is a music teacher and his stepfather Nelson Alvarez is a musical producer and plays the piano.

This young Costa Rican was part of NBC’s show Little Big Shots, conducted by Steve Harvey, and which gives children a platform to showcase their talents.

“All my life my mom has taught me music, and when I was four I asked her to buy me a guitar, she did and she taught me to play. No one taught me how to sing before, but now I am taking singing lessons,” explained Ramírez, who continued, “Music is in everything and it makes me happy”.

A friend of the family suggested Andrey should participate in the casting of the show, they sent a homemade video and they later received a positive response.

The show was taped in June of 2016 but it was not aired until this week.

“I loved the show. The interview with Steve Harvey was fun. I also made many new friends”, said Andrey to national media.

Andrey told Harvey his favorite bands are The Beatles, Oasis and Earth, Wind and Fire; although he doesn’t speak English he is very comfortable singing in this language.

You can watch Andrey perform live on Wednesday, May 17 at the Jazz Café in San Pedro when he makes a presentation with his band, formed by his mom in the guitar, his father in the piano, Alejandro Castro in the bass and Kin Rivera Jr. in the drums.
