Engineering for Kids and the Costa Rican Chamber of Technology, Information and Communication are opening the course “Design and Programming of Video Games” for children between the ages of 4 and twelve in Costa Rica.

The classes will begin in August in La Uruca where Engineering for Kids is located, every Saturday from 10:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. starting August 5 and concluding October 28.

The teaching platform used is called Scratch Programming Playground which teaches programming bases to children with colored code blocks.Children will be separated according to their age group, children 4 to 6 years-old will be working with “Space Pioneers”; while children 7 to 12 will work with Ninja Attack for which they will use Microsoft’s Clickteam Fusion 2.5 .

The objective of the course is to use the interest children have in video games to help them create and awaken their interest in the areas of science and technology.
