Just three days away from stepping in the ring again after one year of absence, Costa Rican Bryan Vásquez is already in Los Angeles, California and says he is ready to represent his country with a victory.

Mexican Raymundo Beltrán is not about to make things easy for Vásquez, but the Costa Rican has made it clear that he is going to give his best effort to take the regional titles in dispute this coming Saturday (August 5) and he wants another world title shot.

Bryan Vásquez traveled to the United States last Sunday along with his manager and has already passed his physical checkup, he participated in a media workout today and will be participating in a press conference prior to the weigh-in ceremony on Friday. Vásquez is fighting in a higher weight division than he is used to, so on Friday he will have to mark 135 pounds, which shouldn’t be a problem for a fighter that usually fights at 130 lbs.

Beltrán has been emphatic that he plans to knock Bryan Vasquez out, and his motivation is his need to secure a world title fight and with that the possibility of a green card “This is not just about myself, this is also about the future of my family”, said Beltrán.

The Beltrán vs. Vásquez fight is the co-main event to the world title fight between Ukranian Vasyl Lomachenko and Colombian Miguel Angel Marriaga. The fights will take place at the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles, California and will be transmitted live by ESPN and ESPN Deportes starting at 8 p.m. Costa Rica time.
