Alice in Wonderland Comes Back This December to The National Theater in Costa Rica

Last year in December the Costa Rica National Theater along with the ballet company Danzay presented the classic story “Alice in Wonderland”; the presentations were a complete success, each event sold out; due to the great acceptance this fun family show had, it will be presented again this December.

The tickets are already available for purchase through the online platform eticket.cr. The dates to enjoy Alice in Wonderland will be December 1 through December 17, the scheduled times differ depending on the selected dates.

This show has been declared of cultural interest by the Costa Rican Ministry of Culture. The story of Lewis Carroll’s Alice in Wonderland has been recreated through animated movies, films, theater, and different adaptations; in this occasion, dancers give life to the classic story through contemporary ballet, it also includes other disciplines such as hip-hop and jazz. The cast will include children 8 years-old and up.

Danzay is a professional dance company under the artistic direction of María Amalia Pendones who is also in charge of directing this challenging show. Pendones studied dance at the University of Costa Rica, and went on to study in San Francisco, CA with Alonzo King, Aaron Osborne, and Lucas Hoving; later, she received training in New York at the Paul Taylor School, Alvin Ailey School, Movement Research, the Limón Dance Company Finis Young and Alfredo Corvino.

The price of the tickets range from ¢9,000.00 to ¢31,000.00 (US$16-$55 approximately), get them ahead of time since they go very fast.
