The Plano, Texas-based eatery, Pizza Hut, is strengthening its presence in Costa Rica with plans to open six more restaurants, as well as remodeling existing outlets to match their updated brand.

The first new opening on December 15, will be at the Vías San Isidro shopping center in Coronado, a district northeast of San José, and will involve a $1.2 million investment.

The other new Pizza Hut locales are slated for 2018, and their locations are as yet undisclosed.

 

“Locations, for competitive reasons, can not be made public yet, but the idea is to grow across the country,” said Andres Ramirez, Pizza Hut talent attraction coordinator.
The new 150 square meter Coronado eatery will have an “open” kitchen concept that will allow diners to observe the pizza preparation, and is expected to employ 20 new staff.

Pizza Hut is an American restaurant chain and international franchise founded in Wichita, Kansas in 1958 by brothers Dan and Frank Carney. The company is known for its Italian-American cuisine menu including pizza and pasta, as well as side dishes and desserts. Pizza Hut has over 15,000 locations worldwide as of 2015, and is a subsidiary of Yum! Brands, Inc., one of the world’s largest restaurant companies.
