SIGN UP FOR OUR Production company Primo Entertainment has informed through a press release of the cancellation of the debut show of Cirque du Soleil in Costa Rica “Séptimo Día: No Descansaré” (Seventh Day – I won’t rest) that was scheduled for today, Wednesday, February 14, 2018.
The strong winds affecting in the majority of the Costa Rican territory are the cause of the cancellation of the show that was supposed to begin at 8 p.m. in Hacienda Espinal, San Rafael de Alajuela.
“This decision was taken to ensure the security of the artists and the assisting audience”, expressed the organizer of the event through social media.
According to Primo Entertainment this first show will be rescheduled for Tuesday, February 20 at 8 p.m. In the event that someone cannot attend on the 20th or wish to request a refund they must contact eticket.cr either by calling 2295-9400 or through email at [email protected] or go directly to the ticket booth at Hacienda Espinal.
This morning the National Meteorological Institute issued a warning about the windy conditions that were going to affect mainly the Central Valley were they estimated winds could reach speeds of between 70-100 kph (43.5 to 62.13 mph).

The show Sép7imo Día – No Descansaré (Seventh Day – I won’t rest) inspired by the music and lives of Argentine rock trio Soda Stereo. made its debut this 2017 in Argentina and is the first Cirque du Soleil production based on a Latin band; the entertainment company has already produced in the past artist inspired shows with tributes to Michael Jackson, The Beatles, and Elvis Presley.
Soda Stereo was formed in 1982 and quickly gained a lot of popularity in the late 1980’s and 1990’s in Argentina and Latin America, the band was formed by frontman Gustavo Cerati (who passed away in 2014 after spending four years in a coma product of a stroke), drummer Charly Alberti and bass player Hector “Zeta” Bosio.; Soda Stereo is considered one of the most influential Latin American bands of all time.
