Some years ago the police in Costa Rica had caught a pigeon that had attempted to smuggle drugs into prison, the famous bird was nick named the “narco-pigeon”, yesterday, penitentiary police caught a cat who was carrying a cell phone for “delivery” to an inmate.

The feline had a bag tied around his neck in which he carried the mobile phone, charger and hands-free device.

According to the officers this is the second cat they get a hold of carrying cell phones to La Reforma prison.

“This is the second cat carrying a cell phone that members of the penitentiary police manage to catch. These are trained cats. We need the Legislative Assembly to approve the bill presented over a year ago to block the cell phone signal and avoid these type of situations”, stated the Ministry of Justice.
