Last Friday, President Donald Trump gave the commencement address for the annual graduation ceremonies at the U.S. Naval Academy in Annapolis, Md. Then he did something truly spectacular by staying to personally thank and shake hands with all 1,042 graduates – 783 men and 259 women – as they paraded across the stage at the Navy-Marine Corps Memorial Stadium that was packed with 30,000 onlookers – mostly family members of the new grads.

Many past presidents have addressed the graduating class at the U.S. Naval Academy, but none ever personally thanked them all for sticking with the grueling pace at the academy to become commissioned officers in the U.S. Navy or the U.S. Marine Corps. During their four-years at the academy only nine dropped out along the way to graduation – a record, according to a report in the Baltimore Sun.

It took two hours for all the graduates to meet the president – the real President of the United States. What was witnessed last Friday was the real Donald Trump and his endearing respect for all active-duty military in service around the world as well as veterans.

In his opening comments, the president outlined the current upgrading of the military that includes a couple hundred new U.S. Navy ships that the graduates will command in future deployments — that all the graduates will receive — placing many of them in harm’s way. Many of the president’s comments resulted in loud applause from the new officers – something they were not under any obligation to do.

“We are not going to apologize for America,” the president said Friday. “We are going to stand up for America. No more apologies.”

One graduate summed it up this way, “It’s the president of the United States,” said 2nd Lt. Connor McGuire of Granger, Ind., who followed his father into the Marine Corps. “The opportunity to go up and shake his hand and be able to receive a diploma – it’s a massive honor.”

President Trump summed up his decision to stay and shake hands with, “I was given an option. I could make this commencement address, which is a great honor for me, and immediately leave and wave goodbye. Or I could stay and shake hands with just the top 100. Or I could stay for hours and shake hands with 1,100 and something. What should I do? What should I do?” he asked throwing up his hands. He reacted to the applause by saying — “I’ll stay. I’ll stay.”

In a recent homemade video circulating on Facebook, that has received millions of views, President Trump once again went out of his way to thank some of America’s finest — a group of Florida firefighters that the presidential motorcade came upon while traveling to Mar-A-Lago – the president’s Florida home north of Miami.

The firefighters in full ‘turn-out gear’ were stunned when the motorcade unexpectedly made a stop in the middle of a busy highway. Flanked by U.S. Secret Service agents, President Trump got out of the black limousine and walked over to the firefighters shaking all their hands and thanking them for their service. This incident was not the first time and it won’t be the last to see President Trump showing respect for the public’s protectors.

President Trump — time and time again — supports the military as well as local, state and federal law enforcement officers, firefighters, paramedics and all the other first responders that “serve and protect.” This is the real President Trump – not the one the Democrats and other hateful liberals describe.

The president’s forever critics — continue on and on with their endless rants — about Special Counsel Robert Mueller’s unending Russia probe, the porn star’s lawyer, the president’s personal lawyer, the DACA immigration kids, DOJ and FBI campaign investigations and the upcoming North Korea summit talks that may or may not happen in June.

President Trump’s cynics are starting to appear small and insignificant in comparison to the real President of the United States — just ask that American citizen who after two years in a Venezuelan prison was released last week due to the direct efforts of the Trump administration. And don’t forget those three American citizens that were wasting away in that North Korean prison that were freed a couple weeks ago. Yeah, ask all those men about the real President Trump.
