Leaders of the labor unions announced since Saturday that the protest will continue this week and “for indefinite time”, this Monday they marched in different areas, including, downtown San Jose, Barranca in Puntarenas, Guápiles in Limón and Nicoya, Guanacaste.

The labor unions have shared their schedule of activities on their social media channels, these are the planned activities, so you can take it into consideration:

Tuesday, September 25: Protestors will gather near Fuente de la Hispanidad in San Pedro, another group will meet at La Merced Park in San Jose starting at 9 a.m. and will walk towards the Legislative Assembly. Regional groups will continue their protests in their respective sectors.

Wednesday, September 26: A big march is being organized similar or bigger to the one that took place September 12, when labor unions’ made transportation available for strikers from different areas to join them in San Jose. This day they will gather in La Sabana at the Leon Cortés statue at 10 a.m. and will walk to the Legislative Assembly. This movement is expected to collapse San Jose during the morning hours. Labor Unions expect the participation of hundreds of thousands of people.

Thursday, September 27: Groups will march in their respective regions. Caravans are planned “in the entire country”. Another group will be protesting in front of the Legislative Assembly.

Friday, September 28: Again, the movements involve different groups protesting in their respective regions. At 4 p.m. groups will walk from the San Jose Central Park to the Plaza de la Democracia.

Saturday, September 29: In addition to the normal regional protests, the agenda states they will gather in front of the homes of deputies of the Legislative Assembly.

This last activity bothered members of congress, some of them in fact have already reported that groups of protesters have been standing in front of their houses “This is disrespect and intimidation, never a right to strike”, stated Yorleny Leon, deputy of the National Liberation Party. The President of Congress affirmed they would request assistance from the Public Police Force if they deem necessary.
