The three-day California Democratic Convention held this past weekend in San Francisco – the capitol of Libby Nation – amounted to a huge waste of time. Some 14 Democrats – all presidential light-weight contenders — went on and on with all the usual rhetoric of bashing President Donald Trump calling him a “racist, a sexist, a homophobe and a religious bigot,” according to Vermont Sen. Bernie Sanders.
One after another as the Democrats took the stage they called for impeachment proceedings to begin against President Trump. None of the candidates broke out from the pack except for former Colorado Gov. John Hickenlooper who declared “Socialism is not the answer.” He was loudly booed by the Libby Nation audience as was former U.S. Rep. John Delaney of Maryland for the same reason.
This event was a prelude to the upcoming first two-night Democratic presidential debate to be held June 26-27 broadcast live on NBC and MSNBC. The sheer number of candidates at 24 calls for a two-night debate some of which have not yet met the requirements to share the debate stage.
In a brilliant move former Vice President Joe Biden cited a previously scheduled campaign event in Ohio prevented him from attending the California convention but he could have attended if he had wanted to, but he didn’t and neither did Team Biden want him there.
Biden leads in all the polls by a substantial margin so why risk being thrown into the pit with a bunch of angry progressive leaning Socialists demanding Medicare for all, higher taxes, abortion on demand, open borders and tuition-free public colleges and universities. Biden’s campaign for president is full of hazards — past position statements, flip flops, misstatements, his touchy feely ways with women and young girls and public gaffs.
When Biden does appear publicly about all he talks about is beating President Trump in next year’s national election. His words are devoid of any visions for the future of the United States of America.
During the California convention coverage on Fox News — this network had the guts to simultaneously cut back and forth with street scenes of mile-after-mile of nasty homeless skid-row communities in Los Angeles and San Francisco – as the candidates championed Socialism as the answer to America’s ills. This was powerful stuff certainly not seen on CNN, NBC or any mainstream media.
So Biden – for the Democrats – is the man to beat for the Democratic presidential nomination and he is vulnerable for his age at 76 and for being an “old white guy.” The progressive far-left Democratic Party will have a hard time in selecting Biden. So they are at an impasse they will have to confront sooner or later. But they have no other candidate that stands a chance of denying President Trump a second term.
Real Clear Politics polling averages show Biden beating Trump in 2020. This one has a lot of people shaking their heads in skepticism. Just who are they polling?
More than likely Trump supporters do not participate in polls taken by telephone cold calls or any other polling method. They truly are today’s “Silent Majority.” However, they speak loudly and with passion for American when they show up at every Trump rally.
Poor little old Joe doesn’t stand a chance.
