– Entertainer Debbie Reynolds died after suffering a stroke, according to entertainment site TMZ.

Reynolds was rushed to a Los Angeles hospital on Wednesday just a day after the death of her daughter Carrie Fisher, US media outlets reported.

Reynolds, 84, fell ill at the Beverly Hills home of her son Todd Fisher, celebrity news Web site TMZ said.

Someone at the residence telephoned for an ambulance shortly after 1 pm, according to TMZ, which cited unnamed sources as saying that the actress and singer might have had a stroke.

TMZ reported that people close to Reynolds, who co-starred with Gene Kelly in “Singin’ in the Rain,” said she had been distraught since last Friday, when Fisher suffered a cardiac incident during an airline flight from London to Los Angeles.

The 60-year-old Fisher, best known for her role as Princess Leia in the “Star Wars” movies, died Tuesday at UCLA Medical Center.

“Thank you to everyone who has embraced the gifts and talents of my beloved and amazing daughter,” Reynolds said on Facebook following Fisher’s death.

“I miss her so much, I want to be with Carrie,” her son, Todd Fisher, told Variety. EFE
