Amazon announced today through a press release that now purchases made by Costa Ricans through their online platform will be delivered directly to Costa Rica from the United States this includes electronics, books, clothes, shoes and toys, among others.

The International Shopping experience has been enabled for Costa Rica within the Amazon Shopping application and It allows for purchasers to also be made in local currency (colones).
Those who want to use the service can download the application Amazon Shopping through Apple and Google and choose within the settings, language, currency and the option “International Shopping” in the country.

As it is common with Amazon as well as with other online shopping centers, clients will be able to choose among different delivery options depending on how fast they want their package to arrive and price.

“We are constantly innovating for our clients and with this launch today we are making the shopping experience through mobile devices better and more convenient for our customers outside of the United States”, commented Samir Kumar vice-president of Exports and Expansion for Amazon.

Using this option will give users the possibility to shop products available for shipping to the country specifically, the system will also estimate customs duties and fees during checkout and customs clearance in behalf of the clients to avoid “surprises” when the package arrives.
