Amazon Costa Rica Hiring 2,500 More Staff

Costa Rica’s Amazon Support Services announced today it plans to hire 2,500 people in the second half of the year, according to a press release from the Foreign Trade Ministry, COMEX.

New positions require mastery of at least two languages; in addition to Spanish, applicants should speak either English, Portuguese, Italian and/or French.

In addition to customer service, Amazon offers positions in administration, human resources, finance, research and fraud, as well as management.

“Costa Rica is a country that offers quality human talent, so we decided to continue investing in hiring Costa Rican personnel. Currently, there are more than 5,000 people who are part of this company,” said Alejandro Filloy, general manager of Amazon Costa Rica.

Amazon is one of the largest service sector employers in Costa Rica currently.

Amazon opened its first customer service center in Costa Rica in October 2008, and since then has shown continuous growth.
