BULLDOGS F.A. Press Release (September 1, 2015) – Bulldogs Fútbol Americano is a Costa Rican semi-professional, Division I, American football team, based in the capital city, San José. The team was founded in 2008 and is committed to developing the skills and abilities of Bulldogs F.A. players as well as guiding the development of new American football programs.

Bulldogs F.A. is currently recruiting expatriates to participate as coaches, players and team staff for 2016. Expats ranging from North American retired high school or college American football coaches to retired or former players now living in Costa Rica, all are welcome!

Tryouts and interviews are being scheduled now and until December 1st, 2015.

• During the Bulldogs F.A. first seven seasons, the team has won four Costa Rican Division I Football Championships: 2010 (10-0), 2011 (8-1), 2012 (9-0) & 2014 (7-2).
• Division 1 Champions: 2010, 2011, 2012 & 2014
• Runner-up Division 1: 2013
• Overall record in the last seven seasons of Division 1 competition: 59 Games Played, 46 Wins and 13 Losses, 78% Winning Percentage.
• Two perfect seasons in the Division 1 Championship: 2010 (10-0) & 2012 (9-0)
• Four international games were played against Central American Division 1 teams and semi-pro teams from the United States.

The Bulldogs F.A. organization, aims to spread the sport and promote its core values among Costa Rica’s youth, families and athletes.

Over the years the Bulldogs F.A. has forged strategic alliances with educational institutions such as universities and high schools as part of its American football awareness and expansion effort through the implementation of sports programs.

Bulldogs Fútbol Americano is a federated team, registered in accordance with the Costa Rica Sports Law No. 7.800.

The team is affiliated with the Federación de Fútbol Americano de Costa Rica (FEFACR).

American football in Costa Rica is governed by the Federación de Fútbol Americano de Costa Rica (FEFACR), which is duly affiliated to the Instituto Costarricense del Deporte y la Recreación (ICODER), in accordance with the requirements set out by Costa Rica Sports Law No. 7.800.

Through social network management general interest for American football in Costa Rica has shown very significant and rapid growth. The scope of such networks along with the mass media support of major national newspapers, major network television sport shows as Deportivas del 13 (Channel 13) and Extra Deportes (Channel 42) indicate a bright future for American football in the region.
