The Southern Caribbean Society of the School for the Arts (Spanish acronym: EDACS), the Municipality of Talamanca and the Chamber of Tourism and Commerce of the Southern Caribbean (Spanish acronym: CATCCAS) cordially invite you to ArteViva, a special festival that features art, music, gastronomy, film, sports, and a permanent program in arts for the people of Puerto Viejo in Talamanca, Costa Rica.
ArteViva 2013 will take place from the 27th to the 29th of September. The extensive agenda of activities includes:
- 3-on-3 basketball
- Visual art exhibits
- Live music
- Parades
- Skate demos
- Tae Kwon Do
- Yoga
- Screening of the film “The Vargas Brothers” (a must-see for fans of rock music)
- Folkloric dance
- Circus performers
- Food tastings
- And more….
Over the last few years, Arte-Viva has become a notable tourist event as well as a vehicle to enhance the image of Talamanca as a result of its educational value and the high artistic level found in Costa Rica’s Southern Caribbean.
The EDACS Association is a non-profit agency whose primary goal is to afford alternative educational opportunities in the arts to disadvantaged young people of the Southern Caribbean.
EDACS has been able to secure the active and strong support of many well-known local artists in fine arts and music to develop workshops which will be free of charge and open to the public.
