Washington, Aug 19 (EFE).– Actress Yvonne Craig, who played Batgirl in the iconic 1960s television series “Batman,” died from cancer, Variety reported on Wednesday. She was 78.
Craig died on Monday at her home in Pacific Palisades, California, surrounded by her family.
The actress, who was born on May 6, 1937, in Taylorville, Illinois, died from breast cancer that spread to her liver.
In addition to playing Batgirl, Craig appeared as the Orion slave girl Marta, who tries to kill Capt. Kirk in “Whom Gods Destroy,” an episode during season three of the original “Star Trek” series that aired on Jan. 3, 1969.
Craig also co-starred in two feature films, “It Happened at the World’s Fair” (1963) and “Kissin’ Cousins” (1964), with Elvis Presley. EFE
