Who doesn’t love a delicious brunch? Although many families enjoy going out for brunch during the weekend, there is never a bad day for brunch, actually it has become quite popular for business meetings, since it keeps a more “informal” affair.
Many people in Costa Rica choose to go to Denny’s for brunch… Denny’s? Sure food is good, but considering we are in Costa Rica, there are many alternatives that will allow you to also enjoy some local gastronomy, here’s a list of some of the best places in Costa Rica to eat brunch (in no particular order):
1) Bulali: Located in Avenida Escazú shopping center, is a cozy small restaurant that offers you artisan bread and a delicious menu with organic ingredients, delicious organic coffee, several tea options, natural fruit juices, and a variety of healthy breakfast options, the smell of the fresh out of the oven bread and pastries fills the place and you will be treated to a wonderful experience. The place has free Wi-Fi for its clients in case you are meeting with clients or partners, indoor and outdoor seating.
2) Casa Mucca: This restaurant is situated in San Isidro, Heredia, aside from being a restaurant it is also an event center. They offer brunch only Saturdays and Sundays for now, the menu includes delicious pancakes, waffles, homemade jam, French toast, fresh fruit, omelet station, etc. Their service is open from 8:30 a.m. and until 2 p.m. and the cost is of Ȼ8,500.00 per person ($15.00 per person).
3) Manos en la Masa: In Barrio Escalante, brunch here is offered only Saturdays and Sundays, from sandwiches to omelets, and artisan pastries, it is worth a visit.
4) Kalú: Also in Barrio Escalante, lots of original dishes with fresh ingredients, smoothies, coffee, tea, a great place and a beautiful view.
5) Kawah: In San Francisco de Heredia, you can’t go wrong here, they really put love into each of the dishes offered; balanced and tasty food.
