Historically, the best place to get fruits, vegetables, and other locally grown/made products near Escazu, has been at the Escazu Central farmers market, on the street just above the Catholic Church every Saturday morning.

But if you want to try something new, we recommend Bodega Verde at Avenida Escazu every Saturday from 9am to 2pm. The food products are hand picked to be the absolute best size, shape, and flavour of organic available. Sure, you might pay a higher price then the Escazu Central farmers market, but you get to socially network with a few new faces you might not otherwise see, and there is a lot of parking. Not to mention, you can pickup a fresh Starbucks coffee before you begin your search for the best looking pineapple!

Organic food producers make sure their products are free of chemicals and can not be used for seed production or transgenic plants.

Organic crops are fertilized preferably by making compost in order to give the land back to delivering nutrients through food. Among the methods used are traditional agricultural terrace systems or natural barriers to prevent soil erosion. They may also have other qualities as ecological packaging for disposal to the final consumer.
