Costa Rica From Above: An Amazing Coffee Table Book

Sergio and Giancarlo Pucci are brothers who share two passions: flying and photography. Over the last few years, they have flown dozens of hours with the intention of coming up with an aerial photographic record that proves what passengers of domestic airlines such as Nature Air already know: Costa Rica looks very pretty from the ground, but from the air she looks amazing.

Costa Rica from Above 2

Together with writer Sergio Gamboa, the Pucci brothers have created the ultimate coffee table book, Costa Rica Aérea – Costa Rica From Above. Written in English and Spanish, this book spans 300 pages and features 270 stunning aerial photographs that show our country like you’ve never seen it before. Some of the photographic topics include: pristine coastlines, cloud forests, small and bucolic towns, agricultural centers, wetlands, waterfalls, whales, children at play, national parks, sea turtles, and much more. As the authors explain, nothing that can be captured by aerial photography in Costa Rica is irrelevant.

Costa Rica From Above is printed on ecologically-friendly paper certified by the Forest Stewardship Council, and 10 percent of profits will be donated to the Fundación Árboles Mágicos (Magic Trees Foundation) a non-profit organization that promotes the ongoing, and very successful, reforestation process in Costa Rica. Accordingly, the photographers are involved in compensating for the carbon footprint they created as they flew and took photos by managing a project to plant 200 trees of native species that are currently endangered.

The book will debut in December, but you can purchase it on presale from now until November 1st for $37, which includes delivery within the Greater San Jose Metropolitan Area (Spanish acronym: GAM). Once the book is introduced, it will cost $50.
