The number of patients positive with coronavirus in Costa Rica went up to 295 on Saturday, March 28th, according to information provided by the Ministry of Health, 15 patients are hospitalized, 6 of them in intensive care.

“With great pain and concern we have 15 people hospitalized, 6 of them in intensive care. This is not a game. The responsibility of the deaths that this emergency brings is a load we all will have to carry, a result of our foolish attitudes. The activity in the streets yesterday reveals that a big sector of the population seems to have no idea of the terrible consequences of their actions. Let’s not allow more deaths due to lack of solidarity and understanding”, stated Daniel Salas, Minister of Health.

The Ministry of Health ordered that all businesses should close doors at 8 p.m. during the weekends, Friday, Saturday and Sunday, except for food and medicine delivery services.

Health authorities also requested to increase the fine to ₡107.768,32 (approximately $187.00 USD) for those that violate the vehicle transit restriction that has been implemented and that is effective weekdays from 10 p.m. through 5 a.m. and weekends between 8 p.m. and 5 a.m.

From the 295 positive for Covid-19, 138 are women, 157 men; 272 are Costa Rican and 21 foreigners.
