The seventh edition of the International Design Festival (FID for its Spanish name) will take place March 10 through March 12 in the Antigua Aduana building.
This event gathers creative and influencing leaders from different parts of the world and offers conferences and workshops in a great environment that will also have gastronomy options and art exhibits available for the attending audience.
This year the festival will have the presence of renowned participants such as:
Rebecca Stambanis, director of strategy and creativity, who helped Nintendo in the launch of the Wii, developed the new line of ice-cream for Häagen Dazs, and more recently directed the global strategy for Apple in 27 markets for the launch of iPhone7, iPad Pro, Mac Book Pro and the Watch 2.
Sergio Caballero a multidisciplinary artist involved in the composition of electronic music, visual arts, conceptual arts and film direction; he is one of the directors of Sonar, Barcelona’s International Festival of Advanced Music and New Media Art.
Sissel Tolaas is another of the big names that will take part of the FID, the Norwegian installation artist who is known for her work with odors and communication. She has worked with different companies such as Cartier, Louis Vuitton, Estée Lauder Paris and the Rockefeller Foundation among others.
The past editions of the Design Festival have gathered over 2,200 people, 23% of which are foreigners visiting from different countries, which positions Costa Rica as a tourism destination for a new type of tourist interested in culture and creativity.
The International Design Festival is also calling all brands and independent designers who are interested in participating in this year’s edition. Those interested can fill up the respective form available in the website of the Contemporary Art and Design Museum.
