Oscar Ramirez, head coach of Costa Rica’s male National Soccer Team, announced the list of 23 players summoned to be part of “La Sele” in the CONCACAF hexagonal matches coming up November 11th and November 15th.
The majority of the players called are experienced, 65% of them already know what it is like to play a “hex” stage. Goalkeeper Keylor Navas, is of course headlining the list, while defenders Oscar Duarte (Espanyol) and Giancarlo “Pipo” Gonzales (Palermo, Italy) will miss these games due to injuries.

Goalkeepers: Keylor Navas, Esteban Alvarado, Patrick Pemberton
Defenders: Kendall Waston, Bryan Oviedo, Cristian Gamboa, Ronald Matarrita, Francisco Calvo
Johnny Acosta, Jose Salvatierra, Michael Umaña, Pablo Salazar,
Midfielders: Randall Azofeifa, Celso Borges, Yeltsin Tejeda, Bryan Ruiz, David Guzman
Forwards: Cristian Bolaños, Rodney Wallace, Joel Campbell, Johan Venegas, Ariel Rodriguez, Marco Ureña.
Most players will meet Sunday with coach Oscar Ramirez while others that have to travel will arrive on Monday to join the group, which will be flying to Trinidad and Tobago on Thursday, November 10.
As part of the matches of the CONCACAF hex stage of the Russia 2018 World Cup, Costa Rica will go on the road to face Trinidad & Tobago on November 11th at 5 p.m. Costa Rica time; four days later they will play at home against the U.S.A. team in the National Stadium, tickets for this game were sold out in a matter of six and a half hours when they were released for sale back in October 18.
