The Central America and Caribbean Wheelchair Basketball Championship 2016 (CentroBasket BSR 2016) will have its final two days of competition this weekend (October 29-30) when the semi-finals and finals take place at the Costa Rican National Gym in La Sabana. Nicaragua classified to semi-finals beating Guatemala 77-38 in the quarterfinals and will now face Puerto Rico on Saturday. Mexico defeated Honduras 84-24 and this win earned them the pass to the next stage where they will meet El Salvador that reached the semi-finals with a win over Costa Rica 44-28.

The teams in first, second and third position will classify to the Copa America 2017 that will take place in Cali, Colombia.

Upcoming Events:

4×4 Challenge National Championship (Desafío 4×4) will be back December 4 organized by RPMTV. The event which is held every year since 1999 and is considered the most extreme competition of its kind will take place at the old racetrack in Tejar del Guarco, Cartago starting at 9:30 a.m. This is an event that presents many obstacles and where the ability of the drivers and the capabilities of the vehicle are tested. There are three categories: 4, 6 and 8 cylinders. Last year’s event had the participation of 66 vehicles. More details on the route and challenges will be provided in the upcoming weeks by the organizers.
