The First Lady Claudia Dobles and the Minister of Tourism, Maria Amalia Revelo, announced the new tourism campaign “Jale al Puerto” (Let’s go to El Puerto – (‘El Puerto’ is how Costa Rican’s refer to Puntarenas) which will be officially launched in August.
This is an initiative of the Costa Rica Tourism Board (ICT) in coordination with the office of the First Lady and the participation of the Costa Rican Institute of Pacific Ports (INCOP), the Puntarenas Tourism Chamber and the Tourism Promotion Committee.
“Jale al Puerto” focuses in the culture and gastronomy of Puntarenas and will carry on for four months with an investment of $90 thousand USD.
“This is an initiative that has the purpose of inspiring all generations to come back to Puntarenas to be reminded of memories from their past and find the new attractions”, explained Minister Revelo.
The First Lady commented that the complain focuses on the natural beauties Costa Rica has to offer and its human warmth so that it is selected as a vacation destination. In this context, a City Tour is planned to specific tourism destinations with a historical route, a gastronomy route and a cultural route.
“Puntarenas is a tourism destination that offers a great number of attractions to visit, an ample culinary richness, adventure activities, dolphin sighting, the arrival of cruise ships, visits to the islands of the Nicoya Gulf and many other alternatives that we want tourists to discover”, highlighted Dobles.
The project also covers interinstitutional efforts to reactivate the Marine Park.
