The Costa Rica Tourism Institute (ICT) will be participating in the meeting Routes Americas which will be held in Quito, Ecuador starting today, February 13 and through February 15, with the purpose of negotiating the arrival of new airlines to the country.

This event gathers all airlines that operate in America, close to 70, as well as representatives from different airports in the region, delegates, speakers and tourism authorities. This is a networking event where meetings can be arranged, airports can promote their market opportunities, etc.

“Without a doubt, Routes Americas is an event of great importance for the country, where we will be able to directly approach the decision makers of airlines, airports and destinations in the region, with the objective of analyzing new market opportunities and the evolution of the existing services”, explained Hermes Navarro, director of airline attraction for ICT.

Prior to this event, the Costa Rica Tourism Institute confirmed there have been conversations already with Aeromexico, Turkish Airlines, Air Canada, Delta, Jetblue, Air Transat, AA, Southwest, Alaska Airlines, Gol Brasil, West Jet Canada, Viva Colombia among others.

Along with the representatives of ICT, delegates from the Juan Santamaria Airport and Daniel Oduber Airport will also be attending.

The event also offers workshops, informative meetings, discussion sessions and CEO sessions.
