The eleventh edition of the Central American Surfing Games will be back to Costa Rica after five years.

The last time Costa Rica hosted this event was back in 2011 at Hermosa Beach, prior to that it had been done in 2006 in Esterillos Centro. This time around the stage selected is Jaco Beach.

Panama, Nicaragua, El Salvador, Guatemala and Costa Rica will be participating in this edition that will have 20 participating athletes per country, divided in seven different categories:

Male Open (4 competitors), Female Open (2 competitors), Male Junior (4 competitors U18), Female Junior (2 competitors U18), Boys (4 / U16), Girls (2/ U16) and Longboard (2)

Competition will be held for three days, November 11-13, and other activities such as concerts and reggae nights will be part of the event.
Costa Rica as a team has held the first place since its first edition in 2006, however the 20 athletes that will represent the country have yet to be announced.

“We wanted to go back to Jaco Beach because the Surf Federation always receives great support from the Municipality here and from the Best Western Hotel. We came together during the World Championship to make a great event and now we are ready to organize another one.”, said Randall Chaves, president of Costa Rica’s surf federation.
