Costa Rican boxer and former interim world champion Bryan “Tiquito” Vasquez signed a promotional agreement with Roy Jones Jr. Boxing Promotions.

Vasquez, is 29 years old and a native of Escazu, Costa Rica. He is a former two-time WBA (World Boxing Association) interim Super Featherweight World Champion (130 lbs.), and is currently ranked #1 in his division by this boxing organism, which puts him in the line to dispute a world title again soon.

The Costa Rican boxer has been residing and training in Las Vegas for some months now along with his wife, WBO/WBA World Super Welterweight Boxing Champion Hanna Gabriels and their daughter. He holds a record of 35 wins and 2 losses. His last meaningful fight was against Dominican Javier Fortuna for the vacant WBA World super featherweight title at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York in May of 2015, a fight he lost via unanimous decision with cards: 112-116 , 111-117, 111-117. Since the loss, Vasquez has been preparing for his next opportunity.

Roy Jones Jr. Boxing Promotions announced the signing in a press conference held this Thursday, November 17 in Las Vegas, where they also announced Tiquito’s next fight which will be February 10th at the Downtown Las Vegas Events Center, his opponent will be announced in the near future.

“After he gets one or two fights in, he will be ready to fight for a title. Our top priority is WBA World Champion, Jason Sosa and eventually he will be ready for that guy”, stated Jones at the press conference.

Roy Jones Jr. the former ten-time world champion, is the founder of Roy Jones Jr. Boxing Promotions along his partner is Keith Veltre. They have been adding young talent to their stable; aside from Vasquez, some of the company’s talent include: former champion Joseph Agbeko, Randy Moreno, Daniel Rosario and John Vera.
