Need a quick, super boost of energy?
Rooster is “the first natural, coffee-based, low-calorie energizer,” to be created and sold, say the energy drink’s Costa Rican creators.
With no sugar, no gluten and no lactose, the 15-calorie drink is said to help with physical endurance and performance, with burning fat, and with aiding in mental alertness, concentration and memory, on the Rooster Coffee Booster company website.
“One night, after an interminable and recurring athletic row between two brothers, Hans formulated a coffee with 4x more caffeine to end his permanent 2nd place. One year later, they sold this coffee to athletes who wanted to improve their performance, and, they loved it! That’s how the brothers decided to create Rooster Coffee Booster,” thus reads the product’s description on the company’s Facebook page.
The natural energy drink is made from coffee, and the energizing effect kicks in about 15 minutes after consumption.
With vanilla and mint flavors to choose from, the drink is available at Fresh Market stores, and at the following Automercado supermarket locations: Santa Ana, Alajuela, Guachipelin, La Guácima, San Francisco, Rio Oro, and Santo Domingo.
Free home or business delivery is available throughout the greater San José metropolitan area.
A 6-pack of Rooster costs ¢11,000 and a 12-pack, c20,000
For deliveries, orders can be placed online, or by phone at 8515-0808

The producers say the drink costs slightly more than the popular Red Bull energy drink, but the all-natural, local production makes it worth it!
