The Health Ministry informed through a press release and posts on their social media accounts that they shut down the San Lucas Beach Club in Puntarenas due to certain conditions found that signify health risks.

According to the Health authority, they originally shut down the business in November 29, they sealed all main accesses to the Beach Club, however, apparently the seals were broken and the doors open to the public; for this reason the case was transferred to the Puntarenas Prosecutor’s office for disobedience to the authorities.

Information provided by Erica Jimenez from the Puntarenas Health Area states that the pools don’t have filters or the special chemicals used to guarantee its cleanliness. The water treatment plant is in bad conditions and generates bad odors to the point that several close businesses presented a formal complaint in the past days.

San Lucas Beach Club which opened doors in 2012, continues to disregard the orders and requests to correct its deficiencies.

Reviews from visitors on the Beach Club’s Facebook page confirm the bad conditions of the establishment, that according to some of them lack proper maintenance and hygiene
