Costa Rica’s EKA business magazine has released its 2017 rankings of private schools in Costa Rica.

Of the at least 500 private educational institutions in the country, about 180 offer a K-12 education according to the Ministry of Public Education (MEP).

Schools are ranked in different categories including the 50 best schools in the country, the top 50 of the last five years, the best schools for English language instruction, and high schools with the top admissions to the University of Costa Rica, as well as the best schools in each of the provinces of the country.

You can find out which high schools offer the international baccalaureate program, and which schools offer after school care as well.

The rankings are based on student performances on governmental standardized tests, which means that qualitative variables that influence in the quality of the educational experience are NOT reflected in the rankings, said the study publishers.
