Costa Rica’s President elect, Carlos Alvarado, presented today the members of his team for the 2018-2022 period.

The team has members of different political party including, of course, the Citizens’ Action Party (PAC), Social Christian Unity (PUSC), National Liberation Party (PLN), Frente Amplio, and Curridabat Siglo XXI.

Except for the Minister of Culture, Sylvie Duran, the rest of the cabinet includes all new names with respect to the previous period. Alvarado stated that his choices were made based in three key elements: Experience, Suitability and Party Representation with the purpose of fulfilling his promise of having a government of national unity.

In addition, he considered gender parity, and therefore, the cabinet is formed with little over 50% women.
