Cuban experts who will collaborate with Nicaragua in seismological and volcanological research are ready to start their work with experts from the Territorial Study Institute (Ineter) and other bodies.

Upon arriving in Nicaragua, the four scientists expressed their willingness to cooperate in the complex situation the country is going through since late August, with quakes registered in coasts of El Salvador and Costa Rica.

The telluric movements registered since then added to fumes mainly from San Cristobal, the country’s largest volcano, which led to warnings in Chinandega and Leon.

Vladimir Moreno, Director of the National Seismological Research Center, said the experts will assess the situation and contribute to a diagnostics favoring actions to face it.

This cooperation will be based in the use of Shumann resonance solar stations, which monitor these storms in the heart of the Earth and their effects.

Cuba has one such station and the experts will consider the possibility to install one in Nicaragua in order to make coordinations with the one existing in Mexico to gather more information to prevent disasters in the region.
