Buenos Aires, Feb 7 (EFE).– Former Miss Argentina Rocio Fiorella Santa Cruz has been barred from leaving the country by federal judicial officials in Posadas, the capital of the northeastern Argentine province of Misiones, after she was allegedly involved in a traffic accident that caused the death of a transit inspector who was riding a motorcycle, judicial officials told EFE.
The 30-year-old Santa Cruz was charged with vehicular manslaughter in connection with the accident and a field sobriety test found that her blood alcohol level was above the legal limit of 0.80 percent when the accident occurred in the early morning hours of Jan. 31 in Posadas.
Santa Cruz, who was Miss Argentina 2004, was allegedly responsible for the accident.
The former beauty queen, who is employed as an attorney by the government tax agency, is out on bail of 200,000 pesos (nearly $14,000), media reports said. EFE
