This past March 31st, El Spot (The Spot) was inaugurated, this place is described as a “Center of Verticality and Outdoors”, the only one of its kind in Central America.
The Spot is located in Guachipelin de Escazú, diagonal to the Distrito 4 shopping center, here, there are gyms and stores that focus in everything needed for the practice of adventure sports and outdoor physical activities such as trail running, hiking, expedition and kayaking.

“El Spot is a space where people that enjoy adventure sports and outdoors activities can find information. gear and supplies for the practice of the different activities, they will also find safe spaces where they can train and prepare for competitions”, explained Julio Arce, manager of El Spot. .

Some of the businesses found here include:

Uhuru Outdoors, an outdoor equipment store, where clients can find tents, hammocks, clothing and all needed equipment for outdoor recreation activities and sports.

Eskalar Mountain and Height Sport Center, a gym that specializes in indoor climbing, it has climbing spaces for the practice of bouldering and sport climbing. They have three different groups, one for children 6-12 years, another one for 12-18 years of age and finally another one for adults 18 and up.

To the Wonder an adventure and nature photography blog and photo tour operator in Central America but headquartered in Costa Rica.

Costa Roka Media, a producer of audio visual content for outdoor activities.

Azur Aerial dance, aerial dance classes for kids and adults.

The shopping center also includes a Pizza Restaurant, a module for physical conditioning for climbers, trail running expedition, surfing, hiking and kayaking.

The investment in the building was of close to $2 million dollars contributed by national and foreign investors, and it has a unique architectural design.
